"It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future–and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance." -Goodreads
Is it possible that you could love a sequel book better than the first? Because... I think that just happened in Where She Went by Gayle Forman. This book is the sequel to If I Stay, which I just did a review on last week. You can find it here!I bought this book on Friday because my friend Jamie (HI JAMIE!) asked me if I wanted to go to Barnes and Noble, have coffee, and read. Yeah.. we spent our Friday night at Barnes and Noble... we're cool. I was definitely in because I knew that I had to get Where She Went! I got it and by the next morning... I WAS FINISHED! ;D That's how good it was!
I have to say I did NOT cry in this one.. but there were some close calls. That also would have been embarrassing since I was at Barnes and Noble. Then again.. the lady reading next to me was laughing every 5 minutes. I had meant to see what she was reading.
I also liked this book because it was in the eyes of Adam. I still do love him. He was a little more "edgy" in this book, and I'm not really into "edgy" boys. Gayle somehow made it work in this book because I still love him.
I know you all are wondering.. was there romance?! WELL DUH! There wasn't a WHOLE lot of romance in this book, but by the end I was one happy camper... or book reader.
This was one of those books that you just want the two characters to GET TOGETHER ALREADY! It was frustrating, but in a way that you couldn't put the stinking book down with out finding out if they do get together. Of course I wouldn't tell you if they did or not because that just wouldn't be right to the people who haven't read this book yet. Hopefully, they will after they read this review.
This was a great sequel because you got to find out what happens after Mia gets out of her coma. You got to find out that if what Mia when she was unconscious was really true. It definitely tied in some of the things from the first book that you questioned.
Once again I give this book 5 out of 5 diva crowns. I have been pretty lucky to find such awesome books two weeks in a row! ;D There was romance (WOO!) and complexity that not all contemporary books can accomplish. I loved it.
