Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway (Review)

Genre: Contemporary

For ages 15+ for strong language

"When funny, charming, absolutely-normal Audrey Cuttler dumps her boyfriend Evan, he writes a song about her that becomes a number-one hit—and rockets Audrey to stardom!

Suddenly, tabloid paparazzi are on her tail and Audrey can barely hang with her friends at concerts or the movies without getting mobbed—let alone score a date with James, her adorable coworker at the Scooper Dooper. Her life will never be the same—at least, not until Audrey confronts Evan live on MTV and lets the world know exactly who she is!" -Goodreads

Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway, was a surprisingly good book! I didn't really know much about it except for the reviews because there wasn't a summary for the book. Once again, my mother gave me this book. By now you should all know, that my mom recommends most of the books I read. ;D

Audrey was a pretty darn funny main character. There were definitely some laugh-out-loud parts in this book. She was a down to earth kind of character that's world was turned upside down. So, it was easy to relate to her.

I have to say, I am a girl who has a very innocent vocabulary, if ya catch my drift. This book was a little over the top with the curse words. Especially the F word. I tried to "filter" my mind of those words. I know that there WILL be cuss words in pretty much every single YA book out there, that's just life. I just didn't like the ginormous (yeah that's a word now!) amount of cuss words. If you got past them though it was a really good book that was very enjoyable.

This is yet another book I read in one day. On a SCHOOL DAY, I might add. It was nice to take a small break from the angels, and vampires, and paranormal creatures, and read a nice contemporary book. I did miss the angels and paranormal creatures, though. I am a little hard to please when it comes to contemporary, so saying that I fully enjoyed this book is an amazing thing. (I am so modest, aren't I?!)

FINALLY!! YES, YES, YES! I had read this book after Wither and if you had read my other review on Wither you could see that at the end I was a little down with the lack of swoon worthy boy character-ness. This book brought my spirit RIGHT back up! Oh. My. GOOODDDDNNNESSSS!!!!! I HEART JAMES! I LOVE HIM, I LOVE HIM, I LOVE HIM!.....Sorry, I freaked out a tad there. But seriously, I love him. He was that weird kind of geeky guy that if you looked past the geekiness he was actually kind of cute (from what I imagined, at least.) He was so darn sweet. I love him, like I said before.

I read this book about three weeks ago so my mind wasn't completely fresh with all of the facts on the books.

I can just say that if you look past the cussing, there is ROMANCE (OH YEAH!), Strong character personalities, and a great contemporary plot. I give this book 4 out of 5 diva crowns!
